| Wishing to flex their writing and directing muscles, yet wanting to stay close to their beloved show SCARED!, the producers have begun developing a new series called "PARA-Troopers™" It can be described as a drama in the tradition of The X-Files that integrates the wit of Ghostbusters, yet based on the characters seen on SCARED!
SCARED! Producer, Brian J. Cano says about the project, "We love doing investigations, but sometimes pure science leaves the imagination in need of some attention. We've always loved filming comedy and drama and this will allow us to combine several of our interests in one place."
This new production does not mean the end of SCARED! The producers have said that the two shows will run concurrently and many of the real-life events seen in SCARED! will undoubtedly make it's way somehow into PARA-Troopers. "We have two more episodes in the pre-production stages, set to film this summer, so we're not slowing down at all," Chris Mancuso says.
The show will follow the adventures of a team of paranormal investigators who operate a private firm whose purpose is the continued defense of this plane of existence from intrusions by the spirit world, as well as other forces. Casting has not begun for the show yet, although the characters will be loosely based on their real-life counterparts, The SCARED! Crew.
