Case File 042903: The Old Staten Island Hospital Location: Staten Island, NY Located on Castleton Avenue the first building, the castle-shaped infirmary, was erected in 1809, it was the island's first fully funtioning hospital. After it closed in the late 1970s, several attemps were made to convert it into condominiums. Although interior construction was nearly complete all of these attemps failed, leaving the empty buildings to the animals, squatters, and drug users looking for a place to get high. Are the rumors true about the old Staten Island Hospital? Do people not want to rent because the buildings are haunted? The crew of SCARED! arrive, their investigation being covered by a local reporter, as they spend the night watching for signs of activity. Reported Activity: howls and other noises coming from the upper levels; beheaded animals found throughout the building; mysterious lights seen in windows from street level. (It is important to note, that as an abandoned building, the homeless and destitute often make their way into these structures and can explain much of the "mysterious" activity within.)
